The Amazing War Stories Book Club – On Courage

Each month we give a book recommendation to our fans which will be available to purchase from our shop. As you know, as we simply don’t have the capacity to store unlimited quantities of books, so we use Amazon. As a result, we receive a small percentage of each sale from Amazon (not the author) which we put towards making more content for you to enjoy. In no-way are our recommendations influenced by Amazon.

This month, our book of choice is On Courage, which features true stories of Victoria and George Cross holders. As you know, some of our stories feature prestigious medal holders such as these, and the story of Bruce Kingsbury on the Kokoda trail is captured in our podcast – The Kings of Kokoda.

The book tells the inspirational stories of 28 incredible individuals. What makes it especially special is that each story is introduced by a ‘celebrity’. Make sure to read the moving story of William Hall VC, the first black person to be recognised with a Victoria Cross, introduced very eloquently by Frank Bruno – a man who knows what it takes to dig deep physically and emotionally.

The VC and GC Association is a charity that we support, and they do vital work in maintaining memorials to these remarkable individuals all around the world, so their deeds aren’t forgotten. But they also do much more than that, and we hope to bring you more about their work in the coming months.

To buy the book please use this link: https://amzn.to/46NcrFY or the button below. Please note, for every purchase, £2.70 of the publisher’s RRP of all copies of this book sold in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland will be donated to Combat Stress.
